THE SEX FILES: Here Comes The Holiday

Come the holiday weekend (and a little beyond) in my usual attempt to keep you up on events, here are some things you might want to put on your calendar:

#1. Denver based lifestyle group MĂ©nage Life will hold their “World’s Biggest Orgy Attempt” on June 2, 2018 at the Erotic Heritage Museum. An announcement was made just this Monday on how The EHM, an institution of which readers of this column should be well acquainted, will hold the private event for the organization.

The Erotic Heritage Museum houses more than 24,000 square feet of permanent and featured exhibits, championing the wonders of erotic imagination, as depicted through artistic expressions of sex and love. The museum’s ethos is that sexual pleasure and its depiction are natural aspects of the human experience and that such celebrations of individual human sexuality (i.e. pleasure) must be made available to all, regardless of gender, race or belief.

Sante Suffoletta, Founder of MĂ©nage Life, says in the EHM’s press release about this event:

“We are excited to be working with the Erotic Heritage Museum on this historic opportunity! We are both aligned in our view that consenting adults should be able to fully express their sexuality without fear or shame.”

MĂ©nage Life seeks to deliver; connection; fantasy fulfillment; full self-expression; fun; organizational excellence; consent & communication and changing the world. This is the 8th year MĂ©nage Life has hosted Sin City in Las Vegas, Nevada, it holds monthly meet-ups in the Denver area.

Hit these spots to learn more about the event. You can visit https://eroticmuseumvegas.com/. The EHM may also be followed on Twitter at http://twitter.com/eroticmuseumvegas and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/eroticmuseumlasvegas/, where an interactive Events Calendar shares all upcoming events and information on how to purchase tickets.

#2. Not an event per say, but just hitting shelves this week and sure to keep you happy, the upcoming summer nights, the Grooby company proudly announced the release of their latest DVD, The TEA Show 2018 Winners. Grooby is the leading producer of trans erotica, operating over 30 membership sites, and producing nearly 50 DVDs a year. They host the annual TEAs (Transgender Erotica Awards) held in Hollywood, CA and on this new release you can experience that show’s winners-Kayleigh Coxx, Mia Maffia, Nadia Love, Korra Del Rio, Casey Kisses, Megan Snow, and Annabelle Lane-in seven highly anticipated scenes. Purchase your copy of the DVD here: GroobyDVD.com.

#3. Our favorite bunch of NYC gentleman’s clubs have lots going on for the holiday, the summer and beyond. If you have yet to visit, the Roof Deck at Rick’s Cabaret New York you need to to get ‘up there’ and have a look around, a smoke, a drink a dance, a hang. With the warmer weather here, where else need you be, really for outside fun?

Sports and girls, (or is it girls and sports?), are all the rage. With America’s favorite past-time now upon us, Hoops Cabaret combines the fun of a sports bar with the excitement of a gentlemen’s club with their Hoops Cabaret, Baseball Viewing Parties. With dozens of Hi-Def TVs and a futuristic Video Wall, Hoops hosts their Viewing Parties for every Yankee and Met game.

#4. Slightly later (Friday, June 15th to be exact) Theatre C, Zach Job and Chad Ryan present the first in their new series of retro-themed dance parties. Their first Retro Factory will have as its theme, “1983,” and pay homage to the legendary gay dance party held at The Pyramid Club in the East Village.

Theatre C blurs the line between artistic and theatrical disciplines, and this party will feature mesmerizing visuals in the style of The Donkey Show and Here Lies Love along with immersive performative elements choreographed by Sidney Erik Wright (Broadway Bares), Shiloh Goodin (Chess at The Kennedy Center) and Breton Tyner-Bryan (Alvin Ailey).  Their queered live re-creations of iconic 80’s music videos as immersive pieces add an element of storytelling to the evening while exhibiting why Theatre C is part of the next stage in American theater’s evolution.

Go here for more info on this ‘pride’-ful event coming very close on the heels of NYC’s Gay Pride Parade 6/24 (more on that in a separate column here later)

#5. Far afield from NYC and happening even later (but still something of note) The Erotik der Dinge (The Eroticism of Things) exhibition is happening at Berlin’s Museum der Dinge. Running until 8/27, the stuff on display here is not to be believed. Shoes with butt-plug and dildo attachments for heels (the toys from the BS Atelier, company) plus a display from the famous archive of the Deutsche Werkbund (artists instrumental in artistic reforms via design in the last century and also part of the creation of the Bauhaus school of design) are on hand here, as are toys and other artifacts from private collections.

See here for more info.

The above should get you through the holiday weekend and into the summer. Have at it, have fun, play safe.
