THE SEX FILES: Some Naughty ‘Best Of’ Lists For 2021

The year-end brings us a whole bunch of sexy “Best Of” lists, porn nominations, toy rundowns, and just stuff to reflect on for the year past. As I always try, I wanted to present you with a few of these so you can go out and about and maybe research some of what you may have missed in 2021 or reacquaint yourself with that you know about already.

So, here’s what I have for you smack dab here in the middle of December.

Mr. Skin, the venerable “foremost authority on celebrity nudity, and is the web’s #1 go-to destination for the complete skinny on Hollywood starlets at their hottest,” had released their Film’s Top 10 Nude Scenes of 2021. From #10 to 1, their rundown is Alexandra Daddario for a bedroom scene in HBO’s mini-series The White Lotus; #9 is Kelli Berglund’s nude sex romp in the series Heels; #8, Andra Day sizzles in The United States vs. Billie Holliday. Did you know the singer Halsey went fully nude for her long-form video, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power? This made Mr. Skin at #7. Spanish beauty Megan Montaner weighs in at #6 for her turn in the film 30 Coins. #5 sees Sydney Meyer baring her breasts in Y: The Last Man. #4 is Pauline Chalamet, along with Amrit Kaur, Lauren Spencer, and Nili Rain Segal, in a naked party scene from HBO’s The Sex Lives of College Girls. Julia Fox makes #3 for her scenes in PVT Chat, #2, Sarah Shahi in Netflix’s series Sex/Life (not much of a surprise that there’d be good nudity in a series named this!) and at #1 according to Mr. Skin, is Sydney Sweeney, in erotic thriller The Voyeurs.

Here is a complete list of the XBIZ Award Nominees for 2022. By all accounting, this list comes from “the most comprehensive showcase of outstanding achievements across the global adult industry.” These XBIZ awards span 1,248 nominees across 100 categories. The winners will be announced and given their awards Sunday, Jan. 9, at the historic Hollywood Palladium, as the capstone event to the action-packed XBIZ conference happening at Kimpton Everly Hotel in Hollywood Jan. 3-6. This is also the first year XBIZ will hold its creator-first fan show X3 Expo (1/7-8th).

I guess I could be accused of letting my side down (erotica writers, that is), but I have not read nary a one of the best naughty books mentioned here. But by all accounts, Jessica Best’s The Best Sex Books of 2021 from the “Urban: List” website and even the earlier published, The Greatest Sex Books for Improving Your Love Life, According to Satisfied Readers, by Melissa Maize and Naima Karp (go here) published on Spy’s website, both seem pretty comprehensive.

Lastly, Kate Sloan’s The Best Sex Toys for Women Will Make Doing It More Fun For Everyone, which was just published on GQ’s site (see here), and Rolling Stone’s listing of toys for all genders, are both worthy lists to consider.

These are just a few lists for you to chew over and enjoy. There are plenty more ‘Best Of’s all over the web, in magazines, and probably in the naughty little noggin’ of your bestie. Enjoy.
