THE SEX FILES: We catch up with former Porn star and current author Houston

Houston: Pretty Enough, The Story of the Gang Bang Queen is a very tight read indeed by one of our best known porn stars ever. Houston has been a regular on Howard Stern, a celebrity of the highest order, holds the title (as well as a Guinness World Record) for gang-bangs and has been on the fast track some 15 years in her porn career. Her brand-new autobiography details the stunning lady’s rise to infamy, her arduous work on the road as a featured exotic dancer in gentlemen’s clubs across the U.S., her steamy encounters (on and off) the set, her recent battle with cancer and her current ‘regular’ life as a Las Vegas realtor.  With a forward written by legendary porn star Ron Jeremy, this big book tells the story of the busty blonde’s life with the rich and infamous, celebrities, and everyday people she’s met, befriended, loved and been screwed by (literally and figuratively) along the way. I had the pleasure to speak with Houston about Pretty Enough, why she wrote it and what she’s learned-if anything-from doing so.

Why write this book now? Did you always sense you had an autobiography in you?

I knew before Jenna Jameson’s book came out that I needed to write a book; that was ten years ago. I had been approached way earlier while I was still in the height of my career but I just was not mentally able to wrap my head around gathering all the information needed and write. Since that time, I went on to do more crazy stunts and films and then in ‘08 was diagnosed with cancer, became a realtor, finished med school etc. so there was even more to write about! So yes, I always knew I needed to write a book of my life story. When the cancer hit I really decided now is the time in case I got too sick.

How did you know what to include about your life and what to leave out?

I put what I thought to be most memorable to me personally and to the public regarding my career into my book. My life was so out there for all it was as if I lived on my own T.V show, so for me the chapters just flowed.

And that life, your career really, has flitted between mainstream and porn, porn and other businesses; that’s what I found most interesting really.

My career started in mainstream. I am a member of S.A.G. I started modeling when I graduated modeling school at age 15 and went on to do beauty pageants etc. I was a double for Pamela Anderson and went on to do a few B movies as well as Baywatch. I already did the mainstream gig before conquering porn, actually.

But you’ve packed in lots of stuff, not just the porn, more than most people get to in their lifetimes.

I have found that I am a lot smarter than I give myself credit for, hence my need to continue to expand my mind and learn…though I’m not sure if it’s that or I’m so type A that I feel I need to be superwoman and do it all! But I really enjoy learning.

But no matter what, you will always be HOUSTON first and foremost as you say.

Yes I tried to escape, but with no luck; I am too much of a celebrity to ever do anything but be HOUSTON.

Through all these adventures, what do you come away with as maybe the one big insight of what life is about…or do you come away with any real insight like that at all?

I have no idea what life is about but I do think I have a destiny and was put here for a reason…. I guess to go down in history as one of the worlds’ most notorious porn stars ever.It continues to be a ride and I continue to grow. I do think that there will be a day when it is the norm, pornography, however I don’t think I will be alive to see this.

Can you tell our readers where they can find you and the book?

Sure, they can get in touch or find me (and the book) at any of the addresses below.
