Robin Trower: Time and Emotion
Robin Trower
Time and Emotion
(V-12 RECORDS)
Legendary blues and rock guitarist Robin Trower is back with another studio release, Time and Emotion. For some musicians advancing in age, it is enough to offer a victory lap of sorts, playing their classics to loyal fans at various venues throughout the country. Having recently seen him in concert, such is not true with Trower, who offered cuts from the new album mixed in with his signature songs such as âBridge of Sighsâ and âToo Rolling Stoned.â As for the new album, he delivers great performances with his signature guitar playing style, using his ever faithful Fender Stratocaster for all the tracks. Sticking with whatâs worked for all these years, he continues to have his band be a power trio setup, and those three musicians create a wonderful wall of sound that his hardcore fans will enjoy. Highlights from the album are plenty, including âThe Land of Plenty,â âWhat Was I Really Worth To You,â âBitten By the Snake,â and âYouâre the One.â Accepting of his age (heâs now 72), he also warns us with a strong statement song âCanât Turn Back the Clock.â Fresh and vibrant, Time and Emotion is a solid release by Trower. There is little evidence that heâs ready to slow down, with a full slate of concert dates coming up. The victory laps Trower is happy with includes great new music, and this particular album is and will be a worthy companion for him on the road.
