For years, I really wanted to like L’Occitane fragrances. All the aromas are outstanding …for about 15 minutes, and then the scent evaporates. I gave it one more shot (third times the charm, right?) with L’Occitane’s Ambre & Santal ($75, 2.5 oz.). I think we have a winner! Ambre & Santal is a complex and warm, unisex fragrance that lasts all day. It is part of L’Occitane’s La Collection de Grasse – named for the French city known as the “perfume capital of the world.” Ambre & Santal has notes of bergamot, rosemary, fig, rose, labdanum, and vanilla. When I put it on in the morning, it was spicy and woodsy and by early afternoon, it had the sweet aroma of vanilla. I’m happy to have found a L’Occitane fragrance with staying power. Ambre & Santal is a great fragrance for winter, and it did some magic spraying on the bed linens, too!
