Ryn Weaver: The Fool

At only 22, Cali-bred singer/songwriter Ryn Weaver has lived a life full of highs and lows, as shown in the lyrical content of her debut, The Fool. “I’m feeling lost/Feeling tongue tied/And now I’m frozen in your head lights,” she declares passionately on last year’s viral hit, “OctaHate.” Though the single is based on an ex-boyfriend, the song itself, to date, has garnered 3.9 million Soundcloud plays since being posted in June of last year. Fundamentally a pop album, The Fool, is an amalgamation of styles and moods, from the sing-a-long Florence + the Machine-like “Pierre” to the bass and synth-heavy “Stay Low,” each song meshes into the next quite easily. What makes Weaver so loveable? She lays her heart on every song, which speak of love, heartbreak and moving on, especially with “Sail On” and “Promises.” Working with super producer Benny Blanco (Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz) to craft The Fool, it is safe to say, Ryn Weaver is on her way to many wonderful things.
