You have to be impressed with Jimmy Fallon. The comic took over Conan O’Brien’s Late Night talk show amid a sea of stunned faces and managed to make it his own fresh, fun environment thanks to his loose comedic attitude, amazing musical impressions and collaborations, a number of which are showcased on his new album, Blow Your Pants Off.  The album is pretty much pulled directly from the show and features some hilarious and pretty spectacular songs such as his dead-on impression of Neil Young along with the real Bruce Springsteen doing “Whip My Hair,” his outstanding “History of Rap” with Justin Timberlake, and the pinnacle moment: his duet with Paul McCartney, which consisted of some of the original lyrics of “Yesterday” when the song was entitled “Scrambled Eggs.”

The songs are still fun to listen to even without the visuals, especially the crazy impressions like his version of The Doors doing “Reading Rainbow” and his impression of Bob Dylan doing “Charles In Charge.” There are also some more original comedic tunes like “Cougar Huntin’” with Big & Rich and “Walk of Shame” with Dave Matthews that work as well.  This is an easy album to listen to and even if you’re not too familiar with Fallon, it’s pretty easy to enjoy thanks to the A-list guests and smart renditions of well-known tunes. So if you’re a fan of Fallon, you probably already have these songs, but it’s worth checking out even if you aren’t.
