Mick Jagger and Co. herald their return to Hyde Park (having first played it in 1969 as a memorial to just then dearly departed original Stone Brian Jones) with their new Hyde Park Live 2013.

The ubiquitous rolling thunder of a chunky guitar-sliced “Start Me Up” starts this 19-song compilation of July 6^th and 13^th gigs. A flangy “It’s Only Rock and Roll” follows and a roiling bass near-funk great “Emotional Rescue” brings up the rear on the first three tunes.

Chuck Leavell kicks up a storm of a piano throughout, precise on a rousing “Street Fighting Man” and “Sympathy For the Devil.” “Miss You” moves along a little too quickly, though Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards’ guitars weave nicely in and out behind Mick’s talking vocals. Mick Taylor “joins” the band for the unbelievable “Midnight Rambler.” (His first gig with the Stones was that Hyde Park show way back when.)

The Voce Choir and London Youth Choir replicate the studio opening of too-good-to-be-true “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” ends this iTunes-only release.
